Chart 16.1 is a line chart showing the annual percentage change in the net income of federal, provincial and territorial and local government business enterprises from 2000 to 2010.
Federal, provincial and territorial business enterprise data are for the fiscal year ending March 31: the local government business enterprise data are for the fiscal year ending December 31 of the previous year.
Federal government business enterprises grew 67.6% in 2010, their largest annual growth.
Provincial and territorial government business enterprises grew 26.1% in 2004, their largest annual growth. They grew 2.7% in 2010.
Local government business enterprises grew 111.5% in 2002, their largest annual growth. They declined 8.9% in 2010.
