  • In 2009, Canada's gross national income per capita was US$37,277 and the OECD average was US$32,949.
  • OECD workers paid an average of 35% of their earned income in taxes in 2010. Taxes ranged between 7% in Chile and 55% in Belgium. The Canadian average was 30%.
  • Taxes for an average worker in the OECD as a whole fell nearly 2 percentage points from 2000 to 2010. In Canada, taxes decreased nearly 3 percentage points.
