Scope of the multinationals research program

  • Examines basic differences in productivity in the performance of foreign as opposed to Canadian-controlled plants in Canada.
  • Focuses on differences in the innovative stance of these two groups of firms because productivity growth ultimately depends on the innovative capabilities of firms.
  • Examines differences in technology use by foreign and Canadian-controlled plants.
