Characteristics of Canadian Exporters and Importers

Traditionally, international trade statistics have recorded what is exported and imported and where it is exported to and imported from. Global production, trade agreements and the increased flow of information across borders have all led to greater demand for data that go beyond traditional measures of international trade. The “who” is trading is now as important as the “what” and “where” goods and services are traded. An increasingly important area of international trade statistics is the development of characteristics of exporters and importers databases which provide a profile of exporters and importers.
