1. Annual departures from the 1951-1980 temperature normals.
2. Ground level ozone and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) are two key components of smog that have been linked to health impacts ranging from minor respiratory problems to hospitalizations and premature death. Exposure studies indicate that adverse health effects can occur even with low concentrations of these pollutants in the air. Annual data are revised, based on the latest release of the Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators report.
