Union Wage Rate Indexes-Major Construction Trades

Description: These city indexes measure monthly changes over time in the collective agreement rates, where they exist, for 16 trades engaged in building construction in 20 metropolitan areas. Union wage rates by trade are also published for 20 metropolitan areas, for both the basic rates and rates adjusted to include selected supplementary payments. The survey collects data from construction associations, Provincial Labour Relation Boards and Local Unions.

Geographic detail: 20 major cities: St. John's, Halifax, Saint John, Québec, Chicoutimi, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Kitchener, London, Windsor, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria

Wage rates and indexes, by components, for 16 trades, for 20 cities:
- basic rate and index
- rate including supplementary payments and index for 16 trades: carpenter, crane operator, cement finisher, electrician, labourer, plumber, reinforcing steel erector, structural steel erector, sheet metal worker, heavy equipment operator, bricklayer, painter, plasterer, roofer, truck driver, asbestos mechanic
