Mobility of apprenticeship completers in Canada from 2002 to 2007

Close to half of the apprenticeship completers who moved to another province between 2002 and 2007 went to Alberta and almost one in three was from the Atlantic provinces. Important gains were associated with migration, especially with regard to hourly earnings which were considerably higher for migrants than for apprenticeship completers who did not migrate.

Educational outcomes at age 21 associated with reading ability at age 15

Reading proficiency at age 15 plays a significant role in both high school graduation and college and university participation by age 21. Nevertheless notable differences in college and university participation rates are evident when family background is considered despite reading proficiency.
