1. Individuals aged 15 and over who received wages and salaries, net income from a non-farm unincorporated business and/or professional practice, and/or net farm self-employment income during the 2005 calendar year.
2. In similar tables in previous editions of PCEIP, educational attainment was presented using the census concept of "highest level of schooling" and those data should therefore not be directly compared with the data presented here for "highest certificate, diploma or degree," which reflects a revision in the 2006 Census. For more information on the census education variables, see the 2006 Census Dictionary and the Education Reference Guide, 2006 Census (Statistics Canada. Catalogue nos. 92-566-XWE and 97-560-GWE200603, respectively. Ottawa).
3. "Colleges, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma " replaces the category "Other non-university certificate or diploma" used in previous censuses.
4. An unexpected growth in the number of people in this category was noted when the data were compared with those from the 2001 Census. Results should be interpreted with caution.
