1. All jurisdictions, 2005/2006 to 2009/2010. (Public School) Data are available for English second language programs for Québec. Data are available for French second language programs for the other provinces.
2. As of 2008/2009, several changes were implemented to the French as a Second Language (FSL) program. One of the entry points for French Immersion in the public system was changed from Grade 1 to Grade 3. A new methodology was introduced to replace Core French, and this new program began at Grade 4 instead of Grade 1 with a significant concentration of FSL instruction at Grade 5.
3. 2005/2006 data are for students in grades 3 to 11. Data for 2006/2007 to 2009/2010 includes students from grades 1 to 11.
