1. Data source: Statistics Canada, National Population Health Survey, 1994/95 and 1996/97, cross sectional sample, health file, North component
2. Population aged 12 and over reporting level of physical activity, based on their responses to questions about the frequency, duration and intensity of their participation in leisure-time physical activity.
3. Data on physical activity for the National Population Health Survey (NPHS), North component were collected from November to March, while the data for the NPHS, household component were collected from June to June. Seasonal collection differences mean that the data should be compared with caution.
4. A simple variance formula was used to produce the coefficient of variation (CV) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
5. Data with a coefficient of variation (CV) from 16.6% to 33.3% are identified by an (E) and should be interpreted with caution.
6. Data with a coefficient of variation (CV) greater than 33.3% were suppressed (F) due to extreme sampling variability.
7. CANSIM table number 01045033.
