2. A pregnancy of a woman who was aged 15 to 19 when her pregnancy ended.
3. Total pregnancies equal the sum of live births, fetal losses and induced abortions.
4. Fetal loss includes stillbirths and hospitalized cases of spontaneous abortions (miscarriages), illegal abortions and unspecified abortions.
5. Induced terminations of pregnancy performed on Canadian residents in hospitals and clinics in Canada.
6. The following symbols are used in Statistics Canada publications: (..) for figures not available, (...) for figures not appropriate or not applicable, and (x) for figures suppressed for the confidentiality provisions of the Statistics Act.
7. For induced abortions in 1998, the Canada level includes 11 induced abortions for which the province of residence was unknown (3 cases in the 15 to 17 age group, and 8 cases in the 18 to 19 age group).
