Health Indicators, vol. 2002, no. 2 >
New featuresAdditional data from the 2000/01 Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) are now available, for selected health regions, through this publication. The specific variables are self-esteem, social support, decision-latitude at work, and influenza immunization. Disability-adjusted life expectancy (DALE) at the health region level, is a new table available for this issue of Health Indicators. This indicator has been developed to augment the quality of life expectancy measures. Two health region profile tables are included in this publication. These free CANSIM tables provide a selection of health region level indicators by data source (1996 Census and Canadian Community Health Survey), so that more than one variable for a given region, or group of regions, may be viewed. Highlights have been prepared for the new and updated data tables listed below – see the Highlights section. Continual improvements to data tables, which increase data comparability and refine quality measures, are reflected under specific data revisions. Data revisions The data on activity limitation from the National Population Health Survey have been revised to be consistent with those based on the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS). The new health regions in British Columbia (health service delivery areas) have been incorporated in to the CANSIM data tables for all indicators from CCHS.
