Highlights of selected indicators

The following highlights provide you with a general overview of the health
of Canadians on an indicator-by-indicator basis. Highlights based on National
Population Health Survey (NPHS) or National Longitudinal Survey of Children
and Youth (NLSCY) data are presented at a Canada/province level.
Highlights
from the NPHS-Northern component are presented in the territorial highlights
section. Highlights based on other sources are presented at the health
region level of geography, using peer
groups. These peer groups are based on health regions in
effect as of January 2000. Future highlights will be based on health
region boundaries and peer groups as of June 2003.
