1. Data source: Statistics Canada, National Population Health Survey, 1994/95, 1996/97 and 1998/99, cross sectional sample, health file, North component
2. Population aged 12 and over who sustained injuries in the past 12 months.
3. Population reporting at least one injury which is serious enough to limit one's normal activities, but does not include repetitive strain injury for all cycles except Cycle 1 (1994/1995).
4. Bootstrapping techniques were used to produce the coefficient of variation (CV) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
5. Data with a coefficient of variation (CV) from 16.6% to 33.3% are identified by an (E) and should be interpreted with caution.
6. Data with a coefficient of variation (CV) greater than 33.3% were suppressed (F) due to extreme sampling variability.
7. Nunavut and the Northwest Territories (excluding Nunavut) came into existence on April 1, 1999. However, to facilitate comparison of data from the National Population Health Survey - North component with data- published by other health surveys or projects, data for these two territories are shown separately "Northwest Territories" and "Nunavut" and combined "Northwest Territories including Nunavut".
8. CANSIM table number 01045018.
