Description for Chart 1
Percentage distribution of cancer incidence and mortality of the four most commonly diagnosed cancers versus all other types, Canada, 2007

There are two pie charts depicted here. The first one is a chart representing the distribution of new cancer cases, the incidence rate, focussing on the four most common cancers: prostate, lung breast and colorectal.

The second pie chart represents the distribution of the mortality rate, focussing on the four most common cancers: prostate, lung, breast and colorectal.

First, the pie chart representing the incidence rate of new cancer cases diagnosed in 2007.

The pie is split into five segments.

Breast cancer accounted for 12.9% of all new cancer cases.

Colorectal cancer accounted for 12.5% of all new cancer cases.

All other types of cancer combined accounted for the remaining 46.4% of new cancer cases.
