This vertical bar chart illustrates the current smoking rate of male Canadians aged 12 and over by age group for 2001 and 2011.
The Y axis is measured in percentages, and increases by increments of 5 from 0 to 40.
Along the X axis are categories of age groups. From left to right, the total of all age groups; 12 to 14; 15 to 17; 18 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64; and 65 or older. Each age group shows two vertical bars; one for 2001 and one for 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 12 and older, 28.1% were current smokers in 2001 and 22.3% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 12 to 14, 5.1% were current smokers in 2001 and 2.0% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 15 to 17, 19.3% were current smokers in 2001 and 10.1% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 18 to 19, 33.2% were current smokers in 2001 and 19.8% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 20 to 34, 36.4% were current smokers in 2011 and 30.3% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 35 to 44, 33.9% were current smokers in 2001 and 27.1% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 45 to 54, 31.1% were current smokers in 2001 and 26.3% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 55 to 64, 22.9% were current smokers in 2001 and 21.1% were current smokers in 2011.
Of male Canadians aged 65 or older, 13.2% were current smokers in 2011 and 10.1% were current smokers in 2011.
