Deaths from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Canada, 1950 to 2011

This article highlights findings regarding chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) from the Canadian Vital Statistics - Death Database, 1950 to 2011. Results are analysed by sex, age and underlying cause of death.
Flu vaccination rates in Canada

In this article, national, provincial and territorial flu vaccination rates are presented for those aged 12 and over who received a flu vaccination within the 12 months prior to responding to the survey. Flu vaccination rates are also provided for two groups at high risk of complications from the flu: seniors aged 65 and over and those under 65 with selected chronic conditions. Data are from the 2003 to 2014 Canadian Community Health Survey-Annual Component.
The impact of mental health problems on family members
This article, highlights the impact of mental health problems on family members and caregiver using data from the 2012 Canadian Community Health Survey – Mental Health (CCHS – MH). The analysis will highlight the general and mental health, as well as the caregiving roles of Canadians who reported having a family member who had problems with their mental health.
Childhood cancer incidence and mortality in Canada

This article presents national data on the number of newly diagnosed cases of childhood cancer (incidence) and the number of deaths attributed to cancer (mortality) in children under the age of 15.
Ovarian cancer: Survival statistics

This article presents relative survival ratios for ovarian cancer at the national level. Data from the Canadian Cancer Registry are used to estimate ratios for one, five and ten year survival, by age at diagnosis and over time.
Food insecurity in Canada

This article highlights rates of food insecurity in Canada from 2007 to 2012. It includes comparisons between adult and child food insecurity rates. Relationships between food insecurity and the source of income, household type, and the number of children in the household are also examined.
Trends in the incidence and mortality of female reproductive system cancers
This article examines incidence and mortality rates for the three most common types of female reproductive system cancer � uterus, ovary and cervix. Data from the Canadian Cancer Registry and the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database are used to analyze changes over time and differential risk by age.
