This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians who reported a mood disorder, by age group and sex in 2009.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of two from 0 to 12.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: All ages; 12 to 19; 20 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64; and 65 and older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for males and one for females.

Of Canadians all ages, 4.5% of males, and 8.1% of females reported a mood disorder.

Of Canadians aged 12 to 19, 2.0% of males, and 3.2% of females reported a mood disorder.

Of Canadians aged 20 to 34, 4.1% of males, and 7.3% of females reported a mood disorder.

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 4.7% of males, and 10.0% of females reported a mood disorder.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 54, 6.2% of males, and 11.0% of females reported a mood disorder.

Of Canadians aged 55 to 64, 5.5% of males, and 9.2% of females reported a mood disorder.

Of Canadians aged 65 and older, 4.1% of males, and 6.5% of females reported a mood disorder.
