This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians who reported very good or excellent health by age group and sex in 2009.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of ten from 0 to 80.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: All ages; 12 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64;  65 to 74; and 75 and older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for males and one for females.

Of Canadians all ages, 60.7% of males, and 60.3% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 12 to 19, 69.0% of males, and 67.0% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 20 to 34, 71.7% of males, and 69.5% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 65.2% of males, and 66.2% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 54, 56.6% of males, and 62.3% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 55 to 64, 53.1% of males, and 54.2% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 65 to 74, 46.2% of males, and 43.9% of females reported very good or excellent health.

Of Canadians aged 75 and older, 36.0% of males, and 35.0% of females reported very good or excellent health.
