This vertical bar chart illustrates the percentage of Canadians diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by age group and sex in Canada in 2009.

The y-axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of two from 0 to 12.

Along the x-axis are the age groups. From left to right, the age groups are: All ages; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64; 65 to 74; and 75 and older. Each age category shows two vertical bars; one for men and one for women.

Of Canadians all ages, 4.0% of men, and 4.5% of women were diagnosed with COPD

Of Canadians aged 35 to 44, 1.9%E of men, and 2.0% of women were diagnosed with COPD.

Of Canadians aged 45 to 54, 2.0% of men, and 3.1% of women were diagnosed with COPD.

Of Canadians aged 55 to 64, 4.2% of men, and 4.9% of women were diagnosed with COPD.

Of Canadians aged 65 to 74, 7.3% of men, and 7.8% of women were diagnosed with COPD.

Of Canadians aged 75 and older, 10.9% of men, and 8.4% of women were diagnosed with COPD.
