1. Sexual offences include sexual assault (levels 1, 2 and 3) as well as other sexual violations.
2. Rates are calculated per 100,000 population. Population estimates provided at July 1^st by Statistics Canada, Census and Demography Statistics, Demography Division. Demographic and crime statistics for Nunavut specifically are only available from 1999 on. Prior to 1999, Nunavut was included within the Northwest Territories.
