The Y axis shows different types of police action, from top to bottom, visit the scene, make a report/investigation, give warning, take abuser away, arrest/lay charges and other action.

Each type of police action has two horizontal bars which from top to bottom represent female victims and male victims.

The X axis measures the percentage of cases reported to the police, from left to right, by increments of ten, from 0 to 90%.

In 83% of the cases reported to the police by women, the police visited the scene, in 78% of the cases, the police made a report or an investigation, in 63% of the cases, the police gave warning, in 48% of the cases the abuser was removed from the home, in 41% of the cases, the abuser was arrested or charges were laid against him, and in 22% of the cases, the police took action in another way.

In 81% of the cases reported to the police by men, the police visited the scene, in 73% of the cases, the police made a report or an investigation, in 60% of the cases, the police gave warning, in 32% of the cases the abuser was taken away, in 21% of the cases, the abuser was arrested or charges were laid against him. No other action was taken by the police.
