Psychological distress score, by age group and sex, 2002

In both men and women, the score on the psychological distress scale falls with age up to the 65 to 74 age group; however, this score is slightly higher for people aged 75 years and over. In this age group, the average psychological distress score is similar to the score of those aged 55 to 64 years, but is lower than the score of people aged 25 to 54 years. For all age groups, we also note that women have a higher score on the psychological distress scale than men.
