Inuit children who were breastfed were more likely to be breastfed for more than six months (compared to all children in Canada)

This chart shows one vertical bar for each of the Inuit Regions: Inuvialuit, Nunavut, Nunavik, and Labrador, as well as one bar for All Inuit Children in Canada and one bar for All Children in Canada. Each bar represents the percentage of children who were breastfed for more than six months in 2001. The chart illustrates that, 59% of all Inuit children who were breastfed, were breastfed for more than six months, compared to 34% of All Children in Canada. 63% of children in Nunavut, 56% of children in Labrador, 49% of children in Nunavik, and 36% of children in the Inuvialuit Region who were breastfed were breastfed for six months or longer.
