Chart 1 Description: This is a vertical bar graph that illustrates the national disability rates by sex and age.

The Y axis is measured by percentages and increases by increments of ten from 0 up to 70.

The X axis is titled age group and is divided into eight age ranges. On the X axis from left to right the age ranges are 0 to 4, 5 to 14, 15 to 24, 25 to 44, 45 to 64, 65 to 74, 75 and over, and the final eighth range is the total that is all ages.

The disability rate for age 0 to 4 for males is 2.1% and for females is 1.2%.

The rate for age 5 to 14 for males is 5.7% and for females is 3.4%.

The rate for age 15 to 24 for males is 4.8% and for females is 4.7%.

The rate for age 25 to 44 for males is 7.7% and for females is 8.3%.

The rate for age 45 to 64 for males is 17.3% and for females is 19.3%.

The rate for age 65 to 74 for males is 32.5% and for females is 33.5%.

The rate for age 75 and over for males is 54.0% and for females is 57.8%.

The total disability rate for males is 13.4% and for females is 15.2%.
