This is a horizontal bar chart that shows the number of people that identified as Aboriginal in 2006 and the proportion of the population that the Aboriginal people represent.
The Y axis is lists the 13 Canadian provinces and territories, from top to bottom: Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Quebec, Nunavut, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, New Brunswick, Yukon and Prince Edward Island.
The X axis is measures number of people, and increases in increments of 100,000 from 0 to 300,000.
The number of Aboriginal people in Ontario is 242,495 and represents 2% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in British Columbia is 196,075 and represents 5% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Alberta is 188,365 and represents 6% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Manitoba is 175,395 and represents 15% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Saskatchewan is 141,890 and represents 15% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Quebec is 108,430 and represents 1% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Nunavut is 24,920 and represents 85% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Nova Scotia is 24,175 and represents 3% of the province’s population.

The number of Aboriginal people in Northwest Territories is 20,635 and represents 50% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in New Brunswick is 17,655 and represents 2% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Yukon is 7,580 and represents 25% of the province’s population.
The number of Aboriginal people in Prince Edward Island is 1,730 and represents 1% of the province’s population.
