This stacked bar graph shows that in both 1971 and 2006, about three-fifths of Canadians aged 15 and over were third-generation or higher, a figure which is projected to decrease to just over half by 2031 (reference scenario).

Note: In 1971, non-permanent residents were not included in the population enumerated at the census.
