Hierarchy of standard geographic units

This diagram shows the hierarchy of the standard geographic units for the dissemination of the 2011 Census of Canada. It highlights the relationship between the dissemination block and Canada via the federal electoral district and via the path that leads to dissemination areas, census subdivisions, census consolidated subdivisions, census divisions, and economic regions. Please refer to the definitions in the Illustrated Glossary.
