Corrections and updates

Issue

Since the Delineation of 2006 Urban Areas working paper was released, three tables been revised. 

Table 3.4, which shows the total and urban land area by province for the 1996, 2001 and 2006 Censuses, required additional information on published urban land area.  Table 5.1, which shows the urban population counts by province for the 1996, 2001 and 2006 Censuses, required an update to information about population counts for 2001 modified urban areas.  Appendix table C.4, which shows name changes to urban areas for 2006, required updating since there were mismatches between geographic codes and the associated urban area name.

Resolution

The  HTML  and PDF versions of the Delineation of 2006 Urban Areas working paper have been updated with revised data.

Table 3.4 has been updated with two new columns (published urban land area in squared kilometres, and percent published urban land area).  Table 5.1 had two columns of information updated (2001 modified counts, and 2001 modified percent).  Appendix table C.4 was replaced.
