  This industrial sector covers all communication media and information transmission including: printing and publishing; broadcasting and other telecommunication services; postal and courier services; and services incidental to communication.

  This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily enaged in printing, publishing, providing services to the printing trade and wholesaling printed matter.

5511 Commercial Printing
  Companies primarily engaged in the production of commercial and (or) job printing regardless of the printing method or process used (letterpress, including flexographic or lithographic; intaglio or gravure; stencil printing; silk screen etc.). Platemaking, typesetting, bindery operations and duplicating services are covered here.   This subsector consists of groupings of companies primarily engaged in collecting, routing and delivering mail and mail-type small parcels.

In the main, the postal service is operated by Canada Post, a crown corporation, but it also covers companies primarily engaged in carrying on one or more functions of the postal service on a contract basis, for example, rural mail carriers. Also covered is the delivery or courier service for letters and mail-type small parcels.
