2009 Census Test

Before each census, Statistics Canada tests the questionnaire content, processing and collection systems. This ensures that quality data are available to support a wide variety of programs including healthcare and education.

The Census Test will be conducted in two test sites: one in and around Montreal, Quebec, and one in and around Red Deer, Alberta. Approximately 100,000 dwellings and 2,700 agricultural operations will be contacted. A sample of 25,000 households across Canada will also be included.
