Introduction to Statistical Sampling (Course code 0412)

Purpose

To provide a basic understanding of practical sampling. Principles of sampling are covered with a minimum of formulae. It focuses on the various methods, their advantages and disadvantages.

Benefits to the Participants

Participants will become familiar with the principles and basic methods of sampling, with emphasis on the application to Statistics Canada surveys.

Target Population

Employees with little training in statistics who wish to acquire a basic knowledge of sampling and who have not taken course STC0405 Survey Skills Development Course.
