Crushing statistics of major oilseeds, Canada and United States, 2019

Canadian oilseed processors crushed 9 608 640 tonnes of canola in 2019, up 3.5% from 2018, while the amount of soybeans crushed declined 7.4% to 1 906 224 tonnes. Oil production totalled 4 186 625 tonnes for canola and 360 258 tonnes for soybeans, while meal production totalled 5 380 585 tonnes for canola and 1 478 358 tonnes for soybeans.

In the United States, over the 2019 calendar year, oilseed processors crushed 56 766 661 tonnes of soybeans, down 0.6% from 2018, and 1 674 410 tonnes of canola, down 3.4%. Oil production totalled 10 943 944 tonnes for soybeans and 702 047 tonnes for canola, while meal production totalled 41 506 103 tonnes for soybeans and 945 032 tonnes for canola.
