The Longitudinal Immigration Database (IMDB) integrates Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data to other administrative files. The data modules on immigrant children, which includes family income data during their childhood, and on settlement services have been updated, and are now available.

The data module on immigrant children provides data on the income of the parents of immigrant children. It allows researchers to study the association between childhood socioeconomic conditions and adulthood economic outcomes for immigrant children admitted since 1980. These data were used to create the table, released today, on 2017 economic outcomes of taxfiling immigrants admitted between 0 and 14 years of age compared with Canadian taxfilers by age at taxation, sex, admission category, period of admission, age group at admission, and low income status as a child, for Canada and the provinces.

The module on settlement services includes data on settlement services accessed by recent immigrants. These data from IRCC, integrated in the IMDB, cover services provided in Canada and prior to arrival since 2013.
