Prices received by farmers in June for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available at the provincial level.

Cattle slaughter prices strengthened in June compared with May as meat packing plants that had shut down or reduced activities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic edged toward full processing capacity.

Grain and oilseed price movements were mixed from May to June. Meanwhile, lentil and dry pea prices continued their upward trend in the wake of strong exports to Asia and the Middle East.

  Note to readers

The price of over 35 commodities is available by province, with some data series going back 40 years. Price data are extracted from administrative files and derived from Statistics Canada surveys.
