PRIME MINISTER STEPHEN HARPER ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN THE SENIOR RANKS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE

OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced today the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service.

Wayne Smith, currently Interim Chief Statistician, becomes Chief Statistician of Canada, effective immediately.

Malcolm Brown, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, becomes Executive Vice-President of the Canada Border Services Agency, effective January 31, 2011.

Karen Ellis, currently Assistant Commissioner of Regional Operations, Ontario Region, with the Canada Revenue Agency, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, effective February 7, 2011.
