Statistics Canada to publish 2021 Census of Population consultation and discussions reports

OTTAWA—Statistics Canada is pleased to announce the publication of the report "2021 Census of Population Consultation Results: What we heard from Canadians" as well as the "Regional discussion report: Review of First Nations, Métis and Inuit questions on the census."

Statistics Canada conducted extensive consultations and discussions on the content of the 2021 Census of Population. These reports outline findings on data relevance, uses and gaps for the Census of Population, and detail feedback from organizations and individuals representing multiple government departments, First Nations people, Métis, Inuit, the general public, academia, special interest groups and the private sector.

Statistics Canada would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2021 Census consultations and discussions. The unprecedented response demonstrated the high level of interest in helping to shape this important source of demographic and social information for decision making and analysis.

The report "2021 Census of Population Consultation Results: What we heard from Canadians" will be published on April 8, and the "Regional discussion report: Review of First Nations, Métis and Inuit questions on the census" will be published on April 15, 2019 on Statistics Canada's website.
