The purpose is to provide early insight into the educational, employment and financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on postsecondary students. You will be asked about concerns regarding your academic future, and the financial strain of paying for tuition, rent and other expenses as a result of the pandemic. This information will be used by governments and other organizations to evaluate the need for services and assistance programs to support postsecondary students during and after the pandemic.

Thank you for helping us collect essential data to inform Canadians and contribute to decision-making. We are counting on you!

I already participated in another COVID-19 crowdsourcing data collection with Statistics Canada. What is different about this one and can I participate in both?

In order to understand all of the repercussions of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, Statistics Canada is conducting several data collection initiatives, and some may overlap. Some are open to all Canadians and others are intended for specific audiences–such as this one specifically for postsecondary students.

Even if you already participated in another Statistics Canada data collection initiative, if you are currently a postsecondary student, we encourage you to participate in this one as it speaks directly to the challenges facing students as a result of this pandemic.
