The purpose of this crowdsource questionnaire is to understand the impact of COVID-19 on Canadian health care workers, with particular focus on access to personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in the workplace.

This voluntary questionnaire will cover job type and setting, training and information on PPE and IPC practices and protocols, use and access to PPE, and personal health. It also includes general demographic questions.

Information collected may be used by the Public Health Agency of Canada, Health Canada, the Canadian Institute for Health Information and other government organizations to help to inform the delivery of health care services and to better understand what health care workers need in terms of equipment, training and support.

Your information may also be used by Statistics Canada for other statistical and research purposes.

      To avoid duplication of questionnaires, Statistics Canada may enter into agreements to share the data from this questionnaire with the Public Health Agency of Canada, Health Canada, the "Institut de la statistique du Québec" and provincial and territorial ministries of health. Only organizations that have agreed to keep your information confidential and use it only for statistical purposes will receive the data.

      Who can participate in the current crowdsource: Impacts of COVID-19 on Health Care Workers: Infection Prevention and Control?

      Any person living in Canada and working in a health care setting can participate. This includes those providing direct health care services to individuals (e.g. physicians, nurses, massage therapists, dentists, dieticians), technical support to medical staff (e.g. receptionists, technicians), or other services in a health care setting (e.g. cleaning and food services staff, security).

      Is this survey accessible?

      No. To conduct this data collection as quickly as possible, we are only collecting information via online questionnaires.

      How long does it take to complete the questionnaire?

      It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire.

      When will the data be available?

      The data will be released on our website in early 2021.

      As with all Statistics Canada surveys, any information provided will remain confidential pursuant to the Statistics Act.
