To the question: Are manufacturing jobs less stable in  ...  A. small cities or B. big cities?

The correct answer is B: Manufacturing jobs are less stable in big cities. In 2008, the retention rate (adjusted for sex and age) in the manufacturing sector was 46% in big cities, compared with 50% in smaller cities. The difference between these rates and the rates for their respective non-manufacturing sectors is also greater in big cities than in smaller cities.

Also, the retention rate in manufacturing has been on a downward trend in large urban centres since 2000, while it has only begun to drop in non-metropolitan areas since 2005.
