Percentage of immigrants among seniors, by province and territory, 2001

This graph compares the proportion of immigrants in the elderly population of the provinces and territories in 2001. There is a large variation in this proportion between the provinces. For example, while 40% of elderly people in Ontario were immigrants, this proportion was only around 3% in Newfoundland and Labrador. In Canada, the proportion of immigrants in the elderly population was approximately 27%.
