Selected job tenures among employed men aged 55 to 64, Canada, 1976 to 2004

This graph gives information on working men between 55 and 64 years of age only. It shows an increase in the proportion of men who had held their job for five or fewer years between 1976 and 2004. This proportion continued to climb between 1982 and 2004, going from around 20% in 1982 to 27% in 2004. By contrast, the proportion of men who were at their job for 20 or more years continually fell starting in the early 1990s, from approximately 42% in 1992 to around 37% in 2004.
