Percentage of individuals who used the Internet or email in past 12 months, by sex and age group, 2003

This graph shows that among the youngest people (25 to 54 years), the proportions of men and women who used the Internet or e-mail were similar. In this age group, around 80% of men and women had used the Internet. However, in the upper age groups, men are more likely than women to have used the Internet. In 2003, approximately 33% of men between 65 and 74 years of age had used the Internet, as opposed to 22% of women in the same age group.
