Chart >

Percentage reporting excellent or very good health, by chronic conditions, Aboriginal population 25 years and over, off reserve, Canada, 2001

This chart shows three vertical bar clusters for each of the following age groups: 25 to 54 years, 55 to 64 years, and 65 years and over. Each cluster consists of three vertical bars that show the proportion for the total chronic conditions, for those with 'at least one chronic condition', and those with 'no chronic conditions'. The chart shows that over half (or 54%) of off-reserve Aboriginal seniors (65 years of age and over) who have not been diagnosed with any chronic conditions reported their health as 'excellent or very good'. By comparison, only about one in five (or 19%) of off reserve Aboriginal seniors who have been diagnosed with a chronic condition reported 'excellent or very good' health.
