This is a vertical bar chart that shows the percentage of the population that moved within the same census subdivision in the year prior to the 2006 census, by Aboriginal identity.
The Y axis is measured in percentages and increases in increments of two from 0 to 14.
The X axis lists the following 5 Aboriginal identity groups from left to right: Total Aboriginal population, North American Indian/First Nations people, Métis, Inuit, and non-Aboriginal population.
The percentage for the total Aboriginal population is 12.
The percentage for North American Indian/First Nations people is 11.
The percentage for Métis is 13.
The percentage for Inuit is 10.
The percentage for the non-Aboriginal population is 8.
Note(s): Area of residence 1 year ago: compares area of residence the day of the census to one year previous, respondents report living at the same address or having moved within or outside the previous census subdivision (CSD) or moving to a new province in the past year.
Census subdivision (CSD): a municipality or an area that is deemed to be equivalent to a municipality for statistical reporting purposes (e.g., as an Indian reserve or an unorganized territory). Municipal status is defined by laws in effect in each province and territory in Canada.
