Economic accounts

Canada's balance of international payments, first quarter 2025
Canada's current account deficit (on a seasonally adjusted basis) narrowed by $1.4 billion in the first quarter to reach $2.1 billion. In the financial account (unadjusted for seasonal variation), inflows of funds from abroad to finance the current account deficit in the first quarter came primarily from direct investment.

Payroll employment, earnings and hours, and job vacancies, March 2025
The number of employees receiving pay and benefits from their employer—measured as "payroll employment" in the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—decreased by 54,100 (-0.3%) in March, following a decline of 40,200 (-0.2%) in February.
Agriculture and food

Poultry and egg statistics, May 2025 and annual 2024
In 2024, total production of chicken, turkey, and stewing hens increased 0.1% year over year to 1.6 billion kilograms. In contrast, total poultry sales decreased 2.4% over the same period to $4.4 billion, on account of lower producer prices. The decrease in prices was largely attributable to a drop in the cost of production, as prices for key feed components such as corn, soybeans, and wheat decreased throughout the year.
Manufacturing

Production and disposition of tobacco products, April 2025
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.2 billion cigarettes in April 2025, up 4.4% from March 2025. Cigarette production was 0.3% higher compared with April 2024.
