The Daily. Thursday, August 30, 2001 Canadian Vehicle SurveyAnnual 2000The Canadian Vehicle Survey measures the activity of all on-road vehicles registered in Canada except some vehicles such as motorcycles, construction equipment and road maintenance equipment. Vehicles covered in the survey travelled an estimated 310.5 billion kilometres. Among them, vehicles weighing less than 4 500 kilograms (and not used as a bus) travelled 282.0 billion kilometres, or 91% of the total during the year. Estimates of total vehicle-kilometres are available by province and territory. Estimates of passenger-kilometres are available by province only.
