Thursday, November 7, 2002 Input-output tables1998 (revised) and 1999 (preliminary)The national and provincial input-output (I/O) tables for 1998 (revised data) and 1999 (preliminary data) are now available on CANSIM II. With this release, some conceptual changes were incorporated (see New measure of gross domestic product for more information). Consequently, the tables for 1997 (national and provincial) were revised, as were the national tables back to 1961. The conceptual changes affect the gross domestic product (GDP) data, and subsequently the I/O tables, back to 1961 in both the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) and Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) space. All statistics are in line with the annual national GDP at market prices released on May 31 and the national GDP by industry monthly statistics released on September 30. They are also consistent with provincial economic accounts and provincial GDP by industry statistics released today. Available on CANSIM: tables (SIC) 379-0001, 379-0002 and 381-0001 to 381-0004; (NAICS) 379-0023, 379-0024 and 381-0009 to 381-0014. Information on methods and data quality available in the Integrated Meta Data Base: survey number 1401.
