Canada's international investment position, first quarter 2003
The value of Canada's assets abroad, as well as its foreign liabilities, plunged dramatically during the first three months of 2003 in the wake of a surging Canadian dollar. As a result, Canada's net foreign liability rose from a record low of $184.0 billion at the end of 2002 to $210.3 billion.
