Table note 1

Children eligible for instruction in the minority official language are eligible for instruction at the primary and secondary levels in English in Quebec or in French in Canada outside Quebec, pursuant to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms' criteria, except citizenship.

In the 2021 Census, preschoolers were aged younger than 5 years as of December 31, 2020 (born on January 1, 2016, or later).
